Linux - Open minds and open arms: Alejandra Espinosa
As an international company, having a global perspective is crucial for success. But wherever you work in the business, you can achieve so much, just by keeping an open mind, and welcoming fresh thinking with open arms.
It’s this spirit of discovery and collaboration that led Alejandra Espinosa to make the leap from School Teacher to Professional People Developer.
“I grew up in Nicaragua, and taught school while finishing my bachelor’s degree in business administration. Upon graduation, I applied my teaching skills to the workforce, where I started working in talent acquisition for the agriculture industry.”
The international mindset Alejandra gained at university led her to Madrid, where she studied for a master’s degree and secured an internship at General Cable. There she helped manage the team during a phase of global transformation, and was offered a permanent role as a Human Resource Business Partner for the Specialty and Export business.
The ability to spot opportunity
Alejandra’s career path is typical of high achievers in our business. Harnessing their skills and experience, and applying their local expertise to new markets, they challenge their peers and help engender change in the business.
“I love change. My experience of moving from one region to another has expanded my cultural awareness and has put me in a position to be able to choose what best practices to share and apply in my work.”
Looking ahead, Alejandra is excited by the opportunity to collaborate with her new Prysmian Group team members, and share her global perspective.
“I think we can both learn so much from each other. When you’re open minded and respectful in understanding the opinions and experiences of others, diverse ideas come to life, and collaboration succeeds.”
